About Us
who we are
Smyth Family, who lived above the pub for 47 years, owned now by Newry born publican, Hugh Courtney. Proprietor of Courtney’s of Lucan also. Smyth’s is in fact the very first pub in Ireland to be bought online, purchased in an online auction in September 29th 1999!
Smyth’s is one of Dublin’s great pubs, a D4 Gem. An old world charm
awaits you whether in our cosy snug or the plush lounge. Smyth’s of Haddington Road is
hidden behind Baggot Street Bridge and just off the Grand Canal. What you’ll find is great
attentive service and a warm friendly smile. Popular for Aviva match days or your after work
